Any sacrament is an outward expression of an inward transformation, and as such, baptisms and weddings are expressions and celebrations within the community of a process that has and is already taking place within a person. In other words, we're just ratifying what's already happened. But at the same time, taking steps like baptism and marriage require preparation and understanding to be responsibly undertaken. This is where we can help.
Baptisms
We hold baptisms on a semi-regular basis or as needed when groups are assembled and ready. We make baptisms a real celebration at theeffect with family and friends of baptizees and as many people as possible from our Sunday Gatherings in attendance.
And for those unsure of what baptism means or would like to know more about their faith as they are preparing for this step, we offer pastoral counseling and mentoring on an individual basis to talk and answer any questions or to really disciple someone until he or she feels ready to take the plunge--literally.
Marriages
We take marriages very seriously and work to help every couple be as prepared as they possibly can be for their new lives together. This preparation goes far beyond the wedding ceremony and into the areas of premarital counseling and spiritual mentoring, if desired.
Marriages can be performed at our facility or off-site as a couple wishes, and we can assist in planning the ceremony and in obtaining referrals to other needed services for the wedding. As with baptisms, we offer pastoral counseling and mentoring on an individual or couples basis to talk and answer any questions or to really disciple the couple until they feel ready to take the plunge--sort of literally.
